Before installing or upgrading IBM Rational Clear Quest, review the following information about this release.
The 64-bit version is required only if other Rational products on the same system are installed and managed by using Installation Manager 64-bit, or if you plan to install another Rational product that requires Installation Manager 64-bit.

NOTE: Before installing this release on 64-bit Red Hat Linux 6.6, you must install certain packages; for instructions, refer to tech note 1691235.
You can install this release by using either the 32-bit version or the 64-bit version of Installation Manager 1.8.

The type-ahead feature provides incremental search functionality for the web client.
The web client supports the SQL editor, which was previously supported only on the Windows and Eclipse clients.
The variable allows Clear Quest hooks to determine if they are being executed in the context of a Clear Quest OSLC call. This release introduces Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) Publication 140-2 compliant encryption for Clear Quest (as opposed to LDAP) user authentication.
